Class A Sound Absorption Panels
When it was clear there was an issue with the Acoustics at the popular Woolwich Evangelical Church, Pastor, Ashley Mendes, knew that something had to be done.
In the course of his investigations, Ashley approached Sound Reduction Systems (SRS) for their initial thoughts on the acoustic problem. After discussing the space in question and the problems that were being experienced, it was decided that a free of charge site visit would be useful to allow an SRS technical representative to experience the room first hand and to take some detailed measurements / sketches in order to prepare a tailored specification.
When the information was entered in SRS’s acoustic modelling programme it was estimated that the reverberation time of the space was nearly 4 seconds, which was far too high and would certainly have affected both the congregation and the speakers. SRS calculated that 60 square meters of their Class A rated Sonata Aurio absorbers would bring the reverberation time down to a much more acceptable 1.5 seconds and, after quoting for the supply and installation, were given the green light to proceed by the church.
The panels were fitted by SRS’ Safecontractor approved installation team, at a time convenient to the church and following the installation, Ashley commented:
“Just a short note to say that the sound panels installed in the church are making a notable difference and the sound quality is much improved. There's a lot less echo and people are hearing clearly the messages.”
